Biography

Harriet’s passion for photography was inspired by her television director father. “I remember, as a child, evenings spent curled up on the sofa with my father and sister watching films where he would explain in minute detail why various shots worked or didn’t work … most people would have been infuriated, but I was fascinated. And a camera was never far from his side.”

She read English Literature at university, although nearly went to art college. On graduating, she assisted renowned photographer Jocelyn Bain Hogg working on a wide variety of location and studio shoots.

Her portraits portfolio extends from the likes of Anthony Hopkins, to mother and child. Projects have included photography for the folk singer If Wen and for his debut album.

For Harriet, photography is about "discovering the extraordinary in the ordinary: a fallen leaf is as fit a subject as a film star."

She lives in London.
